Open since 1966, the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens in a 133-acre zoo offering fun for all ages. The Zoo is home to more than 1,100 mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles representing more than 250 different species (29 of which are endangered).

The Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden features a collection of several planted gardens and over 800 different plant species with over 7,400 individual plants. Some of the highlights of the Los Angeles Zoo include Rainforest of the Americas, Elephants of Asia, Campo Gorilla Reserve, Sea Life Cliffs, Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains, Red Ape Rain Forest, Dragons of Komodo, and the LAIR (Living Amphibians, Invertebrates, and Reptiles).
