BEACH TIME! – BEST LOS ANGELES BEACHES TO VISIT
It’s no secret that one of the best parts about sunny Los Angeles is its gorgeous beachfront and many options for catching some rays along the coastline.
Here are a few favorites to explore during your trip to Burbank and the surrounding area.
Marina Del Rey – Visit the Marina and enjoy a calm, serene environment with plenty to do. Stop in at the many quaint shops for a variety of knick-knacks, rent a bike cruiser and ride around the board walk, kayak in the harbor or enjoy the ocean breeze during a sailboat ride. It’s safe to say that there is something for every person’s idea of a ‘beach day.’
Point Dume State Beach – Located along the Pacific Coast Highway, enjoy a strolling white sand beach with rocky cliffs scattered about and gorgeous blue sea. This place is perfect for a relaxing day with a group of friends or for just enjoying a peaceful day to one’s self. It’s generally not as crowded as other beaches and on clear days you can spot dolphins, seals and other sea life. Get a bite to eat nearby at the Pirates Cove Café located right on the beach.
Santa Monica Beach near Burbank
Santa Monica – There are plenty of activities for the entire family at this bustling beach and pier. Stop in at one of the many pop up shops along the bike path, grab a cup of clam chowder or catch a view of the entire area from up high on the Ferris wheel.
Venice – Enjoy a variety of shops, eateries and people watching at this eclectic beach town. Rent a bike and see all that the area has to offer. Stop in at the many booths that line the Venice Boardwalk. Or, stroll along the canals. You’re sure to be entertained by the area’s vibrant and diverse nature.
Will Rogers State Beach – This beach park is on the Santa Monica Bay, and conveniently located right off of the 10 Freeway. There are plenty of restrooms, parking, and doing summer hours, lifeguards on duty. Enjoy swimming, surfing, body boarding, volleyball or for the young ones, or young at heart, playing on the playground and other gymnastic equipment located on the beach. Get here early to claim the best spot!
Zuma Beach – Located along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, this picturesque beach is known for not being as touristy as some of the others. It has volleyball courts, restrooms and on most days is great for swimming, paddle boarding or just catching the rays. Bring a picnic or enjoy lunch or a breathtaking sunset at the nearby restaurant overlooking the shoreline.
