It’s that time of year where the city is abuzz with merriment and holiday cheer. Although you won’t find snow covered mountaintops or 30-degree weather, there are plenty of activities in Los Angeles that will get you in the holiday spirit. Here are some of our favorite holiday activities taking place in and around the Burbank area.

Twelve Days of Holiday Cheer  – The city of Burbank sponsors a variety of events in the twelve days leading up to  Christmas. These family-friendly activities range from a tree lighting ceremony, Santa photos, a reindeer run and even a holiday parade. Click on the link to get the full list of festivities.

LA Zoo Lights – Spend an evening enjoying a one-of-a-kind lighting experience at the LA Zoo. Take a stroll and enjoy the enchanted, holiday wonderland complete with real reindeer and Santa Claus, all under the star-filled sky.

Ice Skating at the Beach – Who said you couldn’t have the best of both worlds? Stop by ICE in Santa Monica and enjoy a festive outing of ice-skating around an 8,000 square-foot rink just minutes from the beach. Take a break and enjoy some hot cocoa or a snack from the on-site concession stand. There’s even a tot rink for those little ones 6 and under. Or, visit historic Pershing Square in downtown LA for another fun, holiday skating rink option.

The Grove – Not only can you check a few names off of your holiday shopping list but you’ll also see the largest Christmas tree in the city. Enjoy the full holiday ambiance with festive music, twinkling lights, a reindeer display and a fully lit fountain set to holiday music. Plus, catch an amazing view of the city.

Rodeo Drive and Beverly HillsFor a more sophisticated holiday experience stop by Beverly Hills and take a stroll down Rodeo Drive. The city hosts a variety of events including a Holiday Bazaar, featuring a European style holiday village with hand crafted gifts, a holiday lighting ceremony, trolley rides and appearances from Mr. and Mrs. Clause.
