Spring 2015 Outdoor Activities in LA

Now more than any time of year, tourists and locals alike are heading outside to enjoy the perfect springtime temperatures. Whether you’re visiting Burbank and the surrounding area for business or pleasure there are plenty of ways to have a little outdoor fun in sunny Los Angeles.

Here are a few outdoor favorites for those who want to get some physical activity or simply enjoy the rays while sipping on their favorite cocktail.

Dodger Stadium in LA

Dodger Stadium

Dodgers – Take me out to the ballgame. With baseball season in full swing there are plenty of games taking place at Dodger Stadium. Catch the locals’ favorite past (and present) time by spending a day or night enjoying all things baseball. Depending on what game you attend there are a variety of activities and giveaways. And, don’t forget to try a famous Dodger dog or two while you’re at the game.

Paddleboarding – Spend a peaceful morning out on the waters in the bay or for those more adventurous out on the open water. Paddleboarding is a great way to get a completely California workout in while exploring the gorgeous shoreline. There are a variety of places in Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, Malibu and the surrounding areas that offer paddleboards for a few hours or even lessons so you can learn the perfect techniques.

Malibu Family Wines – For those 21 and over, stop by this quaint tasting room and enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting, live music, a friendly crowd and plenty of room to lounge underneath an umbrella or enjoy a picnic in the grass. Or, map out the other wineries and tasting rooms in the area and make an entire day out of it.

Castaway in LA

Brunch – Stop in at one of Burbank’s most popular brunch spots, Castaway, and enjoy a morning or afternoon of free flowing champagne, made-to-order omelets, fresh seafood, a full carving station and many other options sure to delight your tastebuds. Enjoy the day on their spacious patio where you’ll see an entire view of the valley and the surrounding area. This is also a great spot for happy hour or a romantic sunset dinner.

Biking – Enjoy a casual, relaxing outdoor bike ride solo or with friends. There are a variety of companies in Burbank and the surrounding the areas that rent bikes for a very affordable price for a few hours, half day or for an entire day. Ride along the many bike paths in Burbank or along the boardwalk in Santa Monica and the surrounding areas. Lock up your bike and stop in at a local coffee shop or for a bite to eat.

We hope you enjoy all that outdoors in Los Angeles has to offer during your stay. Of course, if you need any help planning your itinerary the friendly staff at the Tangerine Hotel in Burbank is happy to provide recommendations.
